Rep. Donald Young

As NRA Board Members, these elected officials have been silent despite the extremist comments made by fellow board members and NRA staff. Is their silence an endorsement of the views expressed by their colleagues?

Rep. Barbara Cubin

   Legislative Top Priorities
What the NRA Wants:
1) Assault Weapons Ban
Put military-style rapid-fire assault weapons that have been banned for the last ten years back on the street.

Please help us make this weapon legal again.
What the NRA Wants:
2) Immunity Legislation

Give sweeping legal immunity from lawsuits for Bull's Eye Shooter Supply, who armed the DC snipers and sold guns used in at least 52 other crimes (AND, while we're at it, all other gun manufacturers and dealers who are negligent).

Let's slam the courthouse door shut on the victims of gun crimes once and for all.

What the NRA Wants:
3) Omnibus Appropriations Bill

Destroy records of all allowed firearm sales within 24 hours instead of current 90 day law. Block the ATF from requiring gun dealers like Bull's Eye to take regular inventories of the firearms. Who cares if the GAO says this legislation would weaken law enforcement? Not us...

What the NRA Wants:
4) An NRA Militia

NRASafe.com will be the modern version of bucket brigades and barn raisings. "Throughout American history, citizens have joined together to build and protect their families and communities," LaPierre explained. "The NRA will build the largest neighborhood watch program in history. Join our citizen militia.

What the NRA Wants:
5) State Initiatives & Priorities

- Prohibit sheriffs from considering the mental illness of an applicant when issuing a Concealed Weapon Permit.

- Force police to let people carry concealed handguns into schools, bars, churches and sports stadiums.

- Make it a crime to release the name of a concealed weapon permit holders, in order to prevent the media from covering stories when these individuals shoot people.

- Repeal safety training for concealed weapon permit holders.

- Force police to let individuals carry hidden handguns without requiring a permit.

- Forbid police from maintaining computerized data bases of gun owners and sales to track guns used in crimes.

What the NRA Wants:
6) Protect These Gun Dealers

What the NRA does NOT Want
You to Know :
7) U.S. Gun Laws: Believe it or Not
